What is a candy buffet and why should I consider it for my next special event?
A candy buffet is a grand display of hand selected candy that is chosen for the design of your candy bar. It is designed with you in mind to complement the theme or color scheme of your event. Candy buffets provide a beautiful back drop and delicious inter-active decore for weddings, parties, and special events.
Why should I include a candy buffet at my event?
Candy buffets are unique and candy buffet services are a new and upcoming business in the bridal and event planning business. A candy buffet will make your event fun, festive, and most of all unique and memorable. Candy buffets provide your guests with an exciting, inter-active element--and they make a fantastic favor for any event, one that will actually be appreciated!
Are candy buffets a good idea for a wedding?
Yes, Did you know that "The Knot" has ranked candy buffets in their "Top 10 Reception Trends" for the past three years? Candy buffets are a fabulous way for guests to mingle with each other. They also eliminate the need for boring favor bags of almonds, candles, photo frames, etc. Not to mention the time it takes you and your bridesmaids to fill those candy bags. Instead, watch your guests go crazy stuffing their treat bags with their favorite sweets! It is the element of your wedding or party guests will be talking about long after the event is over.
Why should I hire someone to create a candy buffet, can't I do it myself?
Most people who have decided this is something they could do on there own soon end up realizing that they were spending the same amount if not more than if they had hired a professional. Consider this--if you were to create your own candy buffet table that will wow your guests, you will need to purchase unique specialty glassware (at least 10 pieces), table accessories to make your table display look attractive, signage, ribbons, candy scoops/spoons/tongs, bags, containers and bubble/packaging materials to store and transport your items that you will use one time!! And last but not least the candy, enough to make the display visual appealing and with no vendor discount. Additionally, the time to go to the store to find the right containers. purchase your candy and treats, practicing your display. Plus you are responsible for transporting all the supplies to the event site, set-up, tear-down, refill the dispalys when needed. Pack up the left over candy for the event hosts,. etc....WHEW, that is a lot to do.

I'm ready to sit down and talk about a having a candy buffet at my next event, what the next step?
Easy, please contact us via our contact form to set up an appointment or ask any questions. We will work with you to personally design the candy buffet of your dreams and imagination. Then we will email you a contract specific to your event. A signed contract and a $50 non-refundable deposit will be needed to secure your date. A 50% payment will be due 30 days prior to the event and two weeks prior to the event the final payment must be made. Leave the rest up to us!
What happens on the day of the event?
If your event is at a venue, we will contact the coordinator there to make all the arrangements we will need. The day of the event we will arrive two hours prior to the event to set-up the display, then watch in amazement as your guests get their first look at your candy buffet!!! At the end of the event we will return to pack up and clean up while your relax. All left over candy will be packaged and given to the event host.
How much candy should I purchase?
The key to a great candy buffet is buying enough candy. You don't really want to base your candy purchase on how many guests you have, but rather how the candy display will look and feel to your guests. You want to "WOW' your guests. You want your candy buffet to have a presence! Most candy buffet experts suggest to make it look gorgeous, start with the table not the guest count. Take 5 to 10 types of candy and buy 15 to 20 pounds of each, whether you actually need that much or not. Of course these are only guidelines and we will work with you and your budget. At bare minimum we do suggest a 1/2 pound of candy per guest. If you have 200 guests we would suggest at least 100 pounds of candy. Again, these are just suggestions no hard set rules.
When should I start planning my candy buffet?
When planning any event, especially weddings, it is always better to plan as early as possible to ensure that we are available the date you need us and to ensure we can get the candy you really want. At bare minimum, 60 days before you wedding would be sufficient. But some candies such as candy in the shape of hearts, are only availabe for us to purchase seasonally. So if you are having a fall event, and you really want Valentines Day Jelly Belly Deluxe mix, we need to order that as early in February as possible to make sure we have it for your fall event.
Do I still need to give out favors?
No, the candy buffet is meant to replace traditional favors. Instead of giving everyone the same thing, you are letting your guests pick and choose what they like. Your guests are sure to see your choice of a candy buffet thoughtful and ingenious. Favors are always hit or miss. You could end up with a lot of favors to take back home with you once your event is over. With a candy buffet, we can almost guarantee there will be little to none left for you to take back home with you!
What kind of candy should I choose for my buffet?
The most popular trend is to purchase candy based on your wedding colors, seasonal colors, or theme. It is entirely up to you. We build each buffet based on information you provide us. If you have no idea what candy to offer, then going with a color scheme is a great option for your buffet. It will look gorgeous as a main focal point at your event. Just tell us the colors you want to go with and we will suggest the candies available in those colors. You will be amazed at what is available. If you would rather choose you favorite candies for your buffet, you can do that too!
