What candy should I choose for my buffet?

You will want to choose candy that suits the occasion or event. For a wedding, baby shower or holiday party, you will want to choose candy that compliments the color theme or the overall theme. For a children’s party, you will want to choose candy suitable for the age group, like gummy worms , jelly beans, lollipops etc.

Another consideration is budget. If you are on a strict budget, try to choose larger, cheaper candy like salt water taffy for the large jars and keep the expensive candy like Peanut M&Ms for your smaller jars.

Also, keep in mind the shapes of the jars and which types of candy will look good inside. For instance, if you would like to add Twizzlers, Red Vines or any other long thin candy to your candy buffet, be sure to set aside a long, tall jar for that purpose.

Lastly, keep in mind the time of year and venue. If your event is going to be outside and you expect it will be hot out, try to avoid candy that will melt.

Ehow.com provides several suggestions regarding what candy to choose for your event.

Here is a breakdown of how many jars you should have in relation to the number of guests at your event:
Buffet for up to 50 guests: 5-7 jars
Buffet for 50-100 guests: 8-11 jars
Buffet for 100-150 guests: 12-15 jars
Buffet for 150-200 guests: 15- 18 jars
Buffet for over 200 guests: 18-20 jars
*Note: These are estimates and refer to medium or large jars.
We have an assortment of jars and each holds a different amount of candy. Also, each type of candy takes up a different amount of space. Thus, we have provided you with the average weight of two types of candy that each jar holds.

Pricing for candy varies. If you buy your candy from a small local store, Party City or Michaels, it will cost more than at a warehouse club chain like Sams or ordering bulkd candy online. We suggest comparing Sams candy pricing to bulk online pricing. Once you have an idea what is cheaper, you can start buying. If you decide to buy online, try to buy from one online store, all at one time, so you only pay shipping fees once. You can also look at stores like Walmart, or the Dollar tree , but always be sure the candy you buy is fresh.

How you decorate your candy buffet is about personal style and depends greatly on the type of event you’re hosting. Taking a look at our Gallery page may be helpful. Some popular ways to decorate candy buffets include color coordinated linens, table runners, candy labels, ribbons, signs, votive candles or tall candle holders, flowers, and favor bags or boxes. We are happy to discuss décor with you if you have any questions.

If a jar chips or breaks while you are renting it, we charge a per piece breakage fee.

Pick up will be scheduled for the day before your event and drop off for the day after your event unless otherwise organized beforehand.

The Deposit fee is simply our way of ensuring that our jars get returned. The money will be refunded when the jars are returned.
